Titles and compliance
What is title work?
Title work is the paperwork that moves legal ownership: securing the title from the seller or lienholder, then transferring and registering it for the buyer.
It is the most common source of customer complaints at small lots, because the delay is invisible until the temp tag is about to expire.
Most states set a deadline for submitting transfer paperwork after a sale, with penalties per vehicle for missing it, and the clock does not care that you are waiting on a payoff.
