What is Buyers Guide?
Also called: FTC Used Car Rule window sticker
The Buyers Guide is the FTC-required window form on used vehicles offered for sale, showing whether the car comes with a warranty or is sold as is.
It has to be prepared, filled in and displayed before you offer the vehicle for sale, not produced at signing. Displaying it late is the violation dealers get caught on.
What it says becomes part of the contract. Its terms override anything contrary in the sales agreement, so a Guide marked with warranty coverage binds you regardless of what the paperwork says.
